Primary Research
I am considering using primary research for input into both my
essay and accompanying practical work. I would like to interview
2 people in the professional industry with different roles in the print
industry - I have organised an interview with a print production manager
and a graphic designer.
I will need to consider wether they will want the interview to be published
anonymously or happy to reveal their names incase of sensitive media
such as a negative impact on their career. I will also need to consider
what questions to ask and define what I want to find out exactly. I
want to use these answers and compare them for a non-informed answer.
What do I want to know?
An indierect series of answers as to wether print is dead/obselete both
in the eye of the printer / designer and the general public by asking a
range of audiences my results are less likely to be collatively biased
towards one form of media.
Question Consideration?
What they personally think is the best way of communicating an idea
or information in the current climate and era? and Why?
Slow movement, is it active (instant gratification)
Use examples and ask about their preferences in terms of physical print
or digital copies and which the personally feel is most effective?
Their opinion on the digital movement away from print is that obvious
in figures and down sales or declines? Or is this the opposite is print growing
are more customers approaching you?
