Before printing my ideas I needed my ideas to be developed and refined for actually printing. To do that I digitised my designs to see how my prints will look - as I'm using letter press for majority prints this will mean I need to really consider how I will set them up and how they will look both in reverse and as a final resolution with a wide variety of puns to take forward I expect to spend 2 full days experimenting with inks and printing techniques. Here is an outline of how and possibly what typefaces I could use - this will vary to what is available at the print workshop.
My current designs are in black and white as I wish to explore different colours physically.

OUGD501 - Practical - Ideas
Linking with my essay, I want to personally explore the letterpress process and feel for myself the enjoyment and result of letterpress printing and the use traditional formats. By doing this I will confirm the conclusion of my essay and the answer to my essay question, why dod people persist to use traditional print methods in the digital age? Because of the love for handmade.
My idea is to create some letterpress prints playing on the idea of Anthony Burrills theme of funny quotes - I want to design some quotes relevant to letterpress with same punch of burrills works. I have come up with a number of puns :
I pulled
Ink bed together
Just my type
What the font?
Its all about the chase
Chase your dreams
Chasing letterpress
Letter me press you
Im font of you
My next step is to develop these digitally and by hand to see how to lay these out.
